In 2015, the Carter Ranch HOA Board of Directors decided to hire a Property Management company. They made the horrible error of hiring Snow Property Services. Snow Property Services, in the form of one Mary Chaira, decided that my home made Flagpole was inappropriate and fined me $25. At that time, I informed her that they would never collect. After 2 additional $25 fines, I was turned over to their lawyers. I informed the lawyers that they would never collect as they were breaking Arizona law. I also told them that they had a fiduciary responsibility to inform their client (Carter Ranch Board of Directors and, ultimately, the Homeowners) that they were racking up a huge bill that we, the homeowners would have to pay. When it ended, the Carter Ranch HOA had to pay out $5500. A cost of about $22 to each and every one of the 253 Carter Ranch Homeowners. Please consider that the money wasted could have purchased new/additional playground equipment for the children. Maybe even a second basketball court for the older kids. Instead, the Board simply lit a match and burned $5500.
After resolving that matter, she turned around and started all over again in April of 2016. After all, it is not her money, it is OUR money. In August of 2016, Snow Property Services and the Board put it "on hold" as they knew that they would not collect and I BEGGED them to turn it over to the lawyers AGAIN. Well, in their sophomoric stupor, they have once again picked up and resumed their Quixote attack. I am writing this to inform all of the homeowners in Carter Ranch, that it is my quest this time to cost the Homeowners double the last amount. I think I can get it up to $10,000 this time. Think of what that COULD HAVE purchased for the community. I tried to get the board recalled but complacency took over the sanity of the homeowners and this is the sum total of that apathy. I have come to the conclusion that it does not bother me. Last time it cost me personally my $22 share. This time it will likely cost me my $44 share. Evidently it does not bother the rest of you either. Bear in mind that these sophomoric actions by Snow Property Services, Mary Chaira and the Carter Ranch HOA Board of Directors is starting to take its toll on property values in Carter Ranch. Carter Ranch has made it to one of the national websites that discusses idiocy in HOAs. What got us there was the 2016 annual board meeting where the board, Mary Chaira and Snow Property Services hired TWO LAWYERS AND A BOUNCER to attend and protect them. Our HOA has become first in the nation to need TWO LAWYERS and a BOUNCER at the annual meeting.
Well, as we bought high, our property value is still upside down and it has no effect on us whether the value goes up or down. That only matters if you sell and we have no intent to sell.
As this new set of fines is now a year old, I have once again begged them to send it over to legal so I can start the trek for a $10,000 loss of HOA funds.
